I create small-batch soaps with the old fashioned lye and oils method. This method creates pure soap, free from detergents and fillers unlike their commercial soap counterparts.

- Cold Process Soaps-
(ingredients breakdown)

Olive Oil - Adds a gentle, conditioning, nourishing lather.

Beef Tallow - Adds a creamy, conditioning lather, and hardness to the bar.

Lard - Adds creaminess and conditioning.

Coconut Oil- Adds cleansing and copious lather, the oil responsible for that "clean" feeling. Also adds harness to the bar.

---Additives:

Kaolin Clay - Adds a smooth, silky feel. Gently cleanses away excess oils and leaves skin feeling soft.

Coconut Milk - Adds a creamy texture and gentle lather.

Honey - Adds gentle lather and pampers sensitive skin.

Colloidal Oats - Pampers and soothes sensitive skin.

About the Apothecary...

Hi! I'm Tara and I'm the creator of The Owls Loft Apothecary! I grew up in the Pennsylvania wilds and I have a massive love for art and nature. Goods created by hand are something that are slowly being lost to time... and I believe that in our time on this earth we should be sharing and indulging in each others crafts. -Everything you see in my shop (aside from my creamy hand-poured glycerin soaps) has been created by me from start to finish. Each recipe carefully crafted with you, and your skin, in mind.

Natural vs Synthetic:
Creating all natural, non-synthetic products is difficult anymore seeing how so many things are lab created, or artificially derived. My heart is with essential oils, dried botanicals, and natural colorants....But l also enjoy working with fragrance oils and mica colorants as well -So I decided to offer both to cater to either taste!
